Research Questions

Colour: Stefan Sagmeister uses bright colours to attract the attention of the viewer.  He also uses colours that are opposites on the colour wheel making the artwork feel like it is almost screaming at his viewer to look at it. The idea of this is to express the emotions of the individual in the art work.

Typography: The words are painted on the bodies of these individuals. This is done by hand and he layout is precisely how he wants it in order for the photographer to capture the image the way he wants it to be seen. This also evokes a certain emotion when looking at the art work. It almost gives you a feeling that there are hidden messages.

Photography: the photography needs to be exactly the way Sagmeister wants it. The lighting also plays an important role to emphasize the model being used as well as the typography and colour to show the message he is trying to display, although the viewer can interpret their own meaning. This is what makes Sagmeister such a great designer. He knows how to evoke emotion.
